  • Garvin Signs LOI, Commits To Bald Eagles
    May 10, 2018
    Sophomore guard/forward Tiana Garvin signed a National Letter of Intent to play women's basketball at Lock Haven University of Pennsylvania, accompanied by her supporters at Cecil College. Tiana is pictured with her father Vernon Garvin Jr. and Cecil College President Dr. Mary Way Bolt.
  • Stubblefield Signs To Play At Goldey-Beacom
    April 30, 2018
    Sophomore guard Alexis Stubblefield signed a National Letter of Intent to play women's basketball at Goldey-Beacom College, accompanied by her supporters at Cecil College. Alexis will transfer to Goldey-Beacom in the fall of 2018 and compete for the Lightning, after her two successful years as a Seahawk. Stubblefield led her team at Cecil College with 14.1 points per game and an overall record of 23-7 in the 2017-2018 season. She ended her career as a Maryland Junior College Athletic Conference First Team Selection, an NJCAA Region XX DII Champion, the NJCAA Region XX DII Tournament MVP, and made a trip to Harrison, Arkansas for the NJCAA Division II National Tournament.

    Learn more about Nicole Guy-Thomas, a sophomore guard, on the 2018 NJCAA Region XX DII Women's Basketball Championship team, in the latest Student-Athlete Spotlight. Nicole, a native of Baltimore, Md. and graduate of Towson High School in 2016, recorded 287 career points in her two years as a Seahawk, and helped the team to a 23-7 overall record and trip to the NJCAA Division II National Tournament in Harrison, Arkansas

  • Seahawks Earn Two Region First Team Selections

    Cecil College's Alexis Stubblefield and Tiana Garvin, both sophomore guards on the women's basketball team, were named to the NJCAA Region XX DII All-Region First Team after a successful season as Region Champions and a trip to the National Tournament.
  • Seahawks Suffer First Round Loss at Nationals

    Cecil College women's basketball team suffered a close loss to the Thunderbirds of Mesa Community College in the first round of the NJCAA DII Women's Basketball Championship. The Seahawks overcame an 18-point first round defecit to eventually tie the game, but could not hold on as time expired.

    As the #1 seed heading into the tournament, Cecil College women's baskteball collected two wins over Hagerstown and Chesapeake to win the 2018 NJCAA Region XX DII title and receives and automatic bid to the National Tournament.

    Five Seahawks basketball players were named to the Maryland Junior College Athletic Conference All-Conference Teams for their outstanding athletic performances throughout the season. Selections include First-Team Selection Alexis Stubblefield, Nyjayha Lockwood, Briana McAllister, Chyna Steele, and Cornell Corbin.
  • Seahawks End Regular Season with Win at NOVA

    The Cecil College women's basketball team ended their regular season with an 80-29 road victory over the Nighthawks of Northern Virginia Community College. The Seahawks head into post-season play with a 21-5 overall record and receiving votes in the latest NJCAA Region XX National Poll.

    After defeating Monroe College on Friday, February 9, the Cecil College women's basketball team cracked the NJCAA Division II National Rankings at No. 20.
  • Lockwood, Seahawks Score Season High Points

    The Cecil College women's basketball team recorded a season-high 115 points in Saturday's win over the Hawks of College of Southern Maryland. Sophomore Nyjayha Lockwood netted a season-high 31 points, inlcuding going 13-16 from the floor and 5-7 from beyond the arc.
  • Seahawks Remain Unbeaten in Region Division

    A double-double in points and rebounds from both sophomores Chyna Steele and Tiana Garvin helped to fuel Cecil College's victory over conference rival Frederick Community College. Women's basketball improves to an undefeated 7-0 in the Region XX Division II standings, 5-4 overall, and 8-3 in MD JUCO.

    The Panthers of Baltimore City Community College came to Cecil College to hand the Seahawks two ten-point losses in the conference. Women's basketball falls to 7-3 in the conference while men's basketball falls to 6-4 against MD JUCO opponents.

    The Cecil College men's and women's basketball teams each captured two regional wins this weekend at Potomac State College of West Virginia. The women improve their record to 13-3 as the men snap their four-game losing steak.

    After coming back from a first half defecit and leading in the third quarter, Cecil College women's basketball was unable to survive a fourth-quarter rally by the Fighting Owls of Harford Community College. The Seahawks fall too 12-3 overall and trail Harford in the MD JUCO standings.

    Cecil College women's basketball picked up their sixth straight win on Wednesday against the Cardinals of CCBC Catonsville by a score of 91-70 to keep their perfect start to the season alive.
