MONACA - Cecil College volleyball swept a road tri-match on Saturday, defeating host Beaver County and Penn Highlands in straight sets.
The Seahawks have won four straight matches. They improve to 5-6 on the year and 4-3 in Region 20 play.
Cecil 3, Beaver County 0
Cecil recorded a season high 15 service aces, leading to a clean sweep of the Titans in game one.
Isabella Brumfield led the Seahawks with a half-dozen aces. Rachel Mullins topped all palyers with 26 assists and chipped in three aces.
The Seahawks went relatively unchallenged on defense, as Beaver recorded just 16 kills and made 17 attacking errors. Skylar Head and Rachel Mullins recorded four of Cecil's season low seven digs.
Cecil 3, Penn Highlands 0
Etta Harris recorded 18 kills in Cecil's second lopsided victory of the day. The Seahawks sandwiched two 10-point victories in sets one and three around a dominate 25-8 win in set two.
Penn Highlands fared worse than Beaver County on offense, making 18 attacking errors compared to nine kills. The Seahawks fell one ace short (14) of its season high set in the previous contest, with three players recording four each.
Mullins once again led the Seahawks with 30 assists. Neelie Grauer recorded a career high three blocks.
