Harris Powers Comeback Victory
NORTH EAST - Freshman middle hitter Etta Harris recorded a career high 24 kills, as the Seahawks came back from an early deficit to the defeat Anne Arundel 3-1 on Tuesday evening.
Cecil recorded just seven kills in the opener and dropped the first set 25-14. The Seahawks rebounded over the next three sets, smashing through 15 kills in the second and 14 in the final two.
The offense of Cecil came up clutch tense moments throughout the evening, starting with back-to-back kills by Neelie Grauer and Etta Harris to clinch set two. Leading 21-20 in the third, the Seahawks would score three of the final four points to take a 2-1 lead. Up 21-18 in set four, Cecil closed out the game with three kills and an ace to take the match.
Harris and sophomore Isabella Brumfield headlined a strong defensive showing by chipping in 15 digs each. Brumfield also picked up three assists and three aces.
The Seahawks improve to 3-6 (2-3 Region 20) with the win.
