Archie Alston III Tabbed as New Head Women's Basketball Coach

NORTH EAST, Md. - Archie Alston III has accepted the position as the newest head coach of the Cecil College Seahawks women's basketball team.

"I am very excited about the opportunity to lead the Cecil women's basketball program," said Alston. "I look forward to building up a tradition of success over the years to come."

Since 2020, Alston has coached both the junior varsity women's basketball and women's lacrosse teams at Mount St. Joseph Academy. He assisted with both varsity programs at The Mount as well.

Alston also currently serves as a head coach while also managing the 5th grade boys basketball AAU program for South Jersey Buckets. His AAU basketball coaching experience extends to the Lower Merion area as well, where he has coached several teams including 7th grade girls and 8th-12th grade boys.

A former college basketball player, Alston played at NCAA Division III Penn State Berks. As a freshman, he started in nine contests while also playing in eight more. He averaged 5.4 points per game and 3.8 rebounds per game.
