Seahawks Land Four on All-Region 20 D2 Team
NORTH EAST - Cecil College softball saw four players named to the 2025 All-Region 20 Division 2 Team, as announced by region officials on Wednesday evening.
Briana Rebman | First Team | Sophomore | Catcher
Rebman led the Seahawks with 46 RBI, 16 doubles, 10 home runs, a .553 on-base percentage, and a .485 batting average. The UMBC transfer made the fewest defensive errors on the team (two) and boasted a .989 fielding percentage. Rebman posted 24 games with at least one hit, 14 of which were multi-hit showings.
Gianna Dougherty | First Team | Freshman | Pitcher
Dougherty soared above Region 20 pitchers with a 9.40 K/7. The Franklinville, New Jersey product finished the year with a 2.69 ERA over 114.2 innings. She led all Seahawks in every pitching category, headlined by her 154 strikeouts. In Dougherty's 24 appearances from the circle, she finished with at least 10 strikeouts five times and had three additional games with nine. At the plate, the freshman hit in the leadoff spot and topped Cecil in at-bats. Dougherty tied for second on the team in hits and doubles.
Sloane Tanner | Second Team | Freshman | Infielder
Tanner served as the Swiss Army knife at the plate and in the field for Cecil. The Campbell University transfer ended the year tied for first in Region 20 with seven triples. Tanned topped the Seahawks with 55 hits and 21 stolen bases. She posted a hit in 25 games, including 14 multi-hit performances. Tanner carried a 14-game hitting streak from March 25 to April 19. The Hedgesville, West Virginia native featured primarily at shortstop and turned a team high six double plays.
Tristan Canavan | Honorable Mention | Freshman | Catcher
Canavan finished second on the team in RBI (37) and walks (15). The Dumore, Pennsylvania native mashed a half-dozen home runs and posted a .613 slugging percentage. Canavan did her best work on the road, batting .407 with 25 RBI and seven doubles in 17 games away from home. Defensively, Canavan caught seven runners stealing from behind the dish.
