NORTH EAST, Md. - The Seahawks honored their seven sophomores Tuesday evening, but could not best the Prince George's Owls in Cecil's final contest of 2023.
Sophomore student-athletes Cameron Brydge, Akeil John, Khadim Keinde, Matt Eskaros, Aidan Hayes, Nathan Ramsden, and Leon Njoroge were honored ahead of the Seahawks match. All seven played an integral part in rejuvenating the program back in 2023, when the Seahawks fielded a men's soccer team for the first time since 2019.
A bright spot in the match came during the 87th minute when sophomore Cameron Brydge found the back of the net for the first goal of his collegiate career. The two-year captain played in 30 of Cecil's 31 contests over the last two seasons.
With the loss, Cecil's record closes out at 3-9-5 for 2023.
