Cecil Steals OT Win Against Hagerstown
NORTH EAST - Cecil College men's basketball rallied from an 18-point deficit, defeating the Hagerstown Hawks 82-76 in overtime on Saturday evening.
The Seahawks got off to a slow start and allowed the Hawks to score 11 unanswered points. Cecil would not see its first lead until Shaun Chandler's layup put Cecil ahead 69-67. Hagerstown matched it on the next possession which also wound up being the final made basket of regulation.
The visitors drew first blood in overtime with a make from range, but Cecil grabbed the advantange on back-to-back layups via Jaiden Guy and Jeremiah Falko. Another layup from Guy gave way to Falko nailing the dagger three that put the Seahawks ahead by seven with a 90 seconds left.
Cecil jumps to 12-6 on the year after the win.
Turning Point
Hagerstown turned the ball over on four occasions in overtime, while Cecil was flawless with the rock during the extra period.
