Mercer County Upends Cecil

NORTH EAST - Cecil College men's basketball suffered its first loss of the season, falling to the Mercer County Vikings on Thursday evening.

Mercer County led for all but the opening two minutes of the contest. Cecil kept things close but could not take retake the lead after that. 

Jermaine Goodwyn topped all Seahawks with 14 points, while Darrien Berrios Rivera and Jaiden Guy had 13 points each. 

Cecil falls to 4-1 on the year after the defeat.

Turning Point

Mercer County's defense stifled Cecil late in the second, allowing the Seahawks just four points from 7:19 to 2:45. The Vikings' offense dropped 13 during this stretch.
