Seahawks Split Western PA Road Trip

NORTH EAST - Cecil men's basketball picked up an easy win on Saturday afternoon, then fell just short on Sunday afternoon as part of a Region 20 D2 road trip.

The Seahawks move to 8-21 on the season.

Cecil 97, Westmoreland 61

Freshman guard Marcus Edmond dropped a career high 33 points, leading the Seahawks to a 36-point bombardment of the Westmoreland Wulfpack. 

Shaun Chandler led Cecil's bench unit with 21 points, while Jermaine Goodwyn produced 12 points. Sophomore forward Luke Moore finished three points shy of a double-double and led the team with 12 rebounds.

Cecil torched the Westmoreland defense, shooting at a 50% clip on the evening. The Seahawks recorded a season best 27 offensive rebounds, 65 total rebounds, and 24 assists.

Beaver County 89, Cecil 86

The Titans of Beaver County kept their playoff hopes alive with a narrow victory over Cecil on Sunday afternoon.

Jaiden Guy, Jermaine Goodwyn, and Luke Moore accounted for 58 of Cecil's 86 points. Guy led the way with 27, 11 rebounds, and seven assists. 

The Seahawks trailed by eight points at the break, but fought their way back and outscored Beaver County by five in the second half. The Titans relied heavily on sophomore forward Dakari Bradford (30 points), who sits second in Region 20 at 24.3 points per game.
