NORTH EAST - Cecil College baseball dropped both sides of a doubleheader against Anne Arundel on Friday afternoon.
The Seahawks fall to 18-14 after its pair of losses.
Game One - Anne Arundel 14, Cecil 9
Cecil gave up 11 runs between the fourth and fifth innings and never recovered. The Seahawks made a late push, scoring a half-dozen in the final two frames before being retired.
Chris Woods (2-5, 1 HR) and Hunter Sipel (2-4, 1 HR) led the charge in the latter stages. Gio Malatesta and Couper Stala also chipped in two hits each.
Trent Wolf (2-3) was saddled with the loss from rubber. Ben Campbell pitched three solid innings, allowing one run on one hit while striking out three.
Game Two - Anne Arundel 5, Cecil 1
The Seahawks could not crack Anne Arundel's pitching in game two. The Riverhawks shut out Cecil for five innings before Couper Stala's solo blast to right broke the scorless streak. Hunter Sipel produced the Seahawks only other hit of the affair.
Colin Shea (1-3) took the loss from the mound. He struck out two over 6 1/3 innings of work.
