Cecil Clips Cardinals
NORTH EAST - Cecil College baseball completed its sweep of CCBC-Catonsville, taking game two 7-3 on April Fools' Day.
Couper Stala, Andrew Baldini, and Justin Weaver combined for for seven hits and five RBI. Stala led with three hits, Baldini produced four RBI, and Weaver chipped in two hits and drove in one with a solo shot.
Hunter Sipel (2-1) picked up the win from the hill, allowing one run on six hits while striking out five. Colin Brosh got Sipel and Cecil out of jam in the fifth by sending Catonsville packing via K with two runners on. Trent Wolf entered with the bases loaded in the sixth, and after giving up two runs, retired the next three Cardinals to extinguish the rally. Wolf returned for the seventh and worked his way out of another jam, sandwiching two flyouts around a strikeout to earn a save.
Cecil is now 18-13 (13-7 R20) on the season.
