Baseball Drops Doubleheader to Potomac State

NORTH EAST - Cecil baseball lost 5-0 and 11-6 to Region 20 Division I foe Potomac State on Saturday.

Game One - Potomac State 5, Cecil 0 - Box Score

The Seahawks were no-hit in game one, striking out 16 times. Three walks blemished an otherwise perfect showing from Catamounts starter Ben McDougal.

Game Two - Potomac State 11, Cecil 6 - Box Score

Cecil made things more interesting in game two, scoring four runs in the final frame to put a scare into Potomac State.

The Catamounts led 11-2 entering the seventh but a move to the bullpen proved to be a poor one. After a groundout started the inning the Seahawks would load the bases. Potomac State committed four straight bases loaded walks to put the tying run on deck. Unfortunately for Cecil, the Catamounts reached into their bullpen oncemore and found two strikeouts to end the game.

Cecil first baseman Justin Weaver led the Seahawks with two hits. Hunter Sipel recorded a double and two RBI.

From the mound, Colin Brosh was stuck with the loss. Derek Santiago pitched a flawless inning of relief in the seventh.
