Cecil College Athletic Department Summer Camp Info

The Cecil College Athletic Department is set to host several youth summer camps. All camps are instructed by Cecil College coaches and assisted by current or former student-athletes. 

All camps will be held at Cecil's North East branch. 

2024 Summer Camps

2024 CECIL COLLEGE BASKETBALL SKILLS CAMP

Session 1 – June 17 to June 21 - CLICK HERE TO REGISTER

WHO: 10 years old to 15 years old

WHERE: Cecil College Physical Education Building, Building E, Route 272, North East, MD. From Delaware: Take I-95 South to Exit 100B, bear right toward Rising Sun. First traffic light, turn right onto college property. From the south, take I-95 North to Exit 100, turn left and make a right at the first light onto the college property.

CAMP DIRECTOR: Ed Durham, Men's Basketball Coach, will teach and oversee all aspects of the camp. Cecil has won the Maryland JUCO regular season and state tournament championship a combined 10 times since 2001. The 1999, 2003, 2005, 2006, 2007, 2009, 2010, 2011, 2013, 2016, 2019, and 2022 teams won the Region Championships and advanced to the National Tournament. The 2006 team won the NJCAA National Championship. Coach Durham, along with the current team members, will be responsible for teaching and demonstrating the fundamentals of basketball. Coach Durham will stress confidence, teamwork, effort and sportsmanship, which he feels are important ingredients in achieving success on and off the court.

CAMP ACTIVITIES: Fundamentals taught include shooting, passing, dribbling, rebounding, defense, team play and sportsmanship. Three-on-three and five-on-five league games. Free-throw shooting and hot-shot competitions.

CAMP FEATURES: College gym, players grouped according to age and ability, extra individual instruction.

WHAT TO BRING: Desire to learn, basketball sneakers, athletic shorts and shirt, & bag lunch or snack.

COST: $110.00 per player

2024 CECIL COLLEGE SPECIALIZED BASKETBALL SHOOTING CAMP

WHEN: July 29 to August 2 - CLICK HERE TO REGISTER

WHO: 11 years old to 17 years old

WHERE: Cecil College Physical Education Building 

CAMP DIRECTOR: Ed Durham, Men's Basketball Coach

CAMP ACTIVITIES: Shooting fundamentals such as: mental game, 3-point shooting, free-throw shooting, shooting off the catch, screen, dribble, fast break and more. Shooting contests', and 5-on 5 full-court games.

CAMP FEATURES: College gym, players grouped according to age and ability, extra individual instruction emphasizing perfect practice habits.

WHAT TO BRING: Desire to learn, basketball sneakers, athletic shorts and shirt, and a bag lunch or snack.

COST: $120.00 per player

2024 CECIL COLLEGE BASEBALL SKILLS CAMP

WHERE: Cecil College Baseball Field

CAMP DIRECTORS: Cecil College Baseball Coaching Staff and Players

CAMP ACTIVITIES: This camp will focus on teaching proper fundamental techniques needed in the game of baseball. Coaching in hitting, pitching, fielding, and base running will advance the camper's skill level, self-confidence, and knowledge of the game. Campers are divided in to groups based on age and skill level. We want all campers to have a positive, fun, learning experience.

COST: $140.00 per player


2024 CECIL COLLEGE VOLLEYBALL CAMP

WHO: 10 years old to 17 years old

WHERE: Cecil College Physical Education Building 

CAMP DIRECTORS: Cecil College Volleyball Coaching Staff and Players

CAMP ACTIVITIES: Beginner/Intermediate - This camp will focus on teaching the fundamental skills of volleyball. Through high repetition of drills and game situations, athletes will learn proper footwork, passing, serving, hitting, setting, and some conditioning. Athletes will be divided into groups based on skill level and age to give everyone a good camp experience. All campers will receive valuable feedback to help improve there playing ability.

CAMP ACTIVITIES: Advanced- This camp will focus on teaching the fundamental skills of volleyball needed for the varsity level of high school. Through a high level of repetition of drills and game situations, athletes will learn proper footwork, passing, serving, hitting, setting, blocking, and conditioning. We give athletes focused, intensive training essential to improvement. Athletes will be divided into groups based on skill level and age to give everyone a good camp experience. All campers will receive valuable feedback to help expand and push their game to the next level. Please note this camp is designed for advanced players, players who already have basic and intermediate playing experience.

COST: $100 per person, per session
