NJCAA Announces 2018-2019 All-Academic HonorsJuly 09, 2019On, July 2, 2019 the National Junior College Athletic Association (NJCAA) announced a new record of 6,656 student-athletes that earned a spot on one of the three NJCAA All-Academic teams, surpassing last year's total of 6,329 student-athletes.

Women's Volleyball and Women's Basketball Announce Summer Open Gym DatesJune 12, 2019Cecil College women's volleyball and women's basketball will be hosting various open gym dates throughout the summer months. These dates are open to all students currently enrolled at Cecil College or students that plan to attend Cecil College this coming fall semester. All dates will take place in the Physical Education Complex on the North East Campus of Cecil College and will take place from 6:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m.

Cecil College Athletics Celebrates Inaugural Hall of Fame InducteesApril 02, 2019Cecil College held its inaugural Athletics Hall of Fame induction ceremony on Saturday, March 30, with seven of the institution’s icons recognized. The Class of 2019 included pioneers who all had a hand in the creation, development, and growth of the Cecil athletic programs. The members of the inaugural class are Charles “Dick” Brockell (posthumously), William Lewit, Mary Maloney, Mary Etta Reedy, Dr. Thomas Topping, Shirley Weaver, and Thomas Wilhide.

Corbin, Falko, and Thompson Earn NJCAA All-Region XX RecognitionMarch 25, 2019Cecil College basketball players Cornell Corbin, Jacob Falko, and Kayla Thompson earned NJCAA All-Region XX recognition for their outstanding performance in the region for the 2018-2019 season.

Seahawks' Extend Winning Streaks at HomeJanuary 30, 2019Cecil College men's and women's basketball each extended their winning streaks by one game with conference victories over Prince George's Community College on Wednesday. Women's basketball has now won two in a row while men's basketball has won their last seven contests, including going 8-1 during the month of January.

Student-Athlete Spotlight: Amya MumfordJanuary 25, 2019Learn more about Amya Mumford in the latest Student-Athlete Spotlight. Mumford, a native of Princess Anne, Md. and a 2018 graduate of Stephen Decatur High School is currently in her first year as a forward on the Cecil College women's basketball team. At the midpoint in the season, Mumford ranks third on the team averaging 14.0 points per game and is tied for first on the squad with 8.5 rebounds per game. She scored a career-high 25 points in the Seahawks' win over Potomac State College of WVU and has tallied 154 total points thus far in the season.

Admission is free to the home basketball matches with a non-perishable food item or monetary donation to the Student Food Pantry at one of our ticket selling tables.

Seahawks Routed by Dominant HarfordJanuary 16, 2019Cecil College women's basketball suffered a devastating 99-34 loss to the Harford Fighting Owls, who boast a 17-1 overall record and remain unbeated in MD JUCO. The Seahawks fell to 2-8 overall and 1-5 in the conference which lands them ahead of Prince George's Community College, Garrett College, and Allegany College of Maryland in the conference standings.

Women's Basketball Drops Fourth StraightJanuary 05, 2019Cecil College women's basketball dropped their fourth straight contest against the Skipjacks of Chesapeake College by a score of 85-42. The Seahawks fall to 2-7 overall and 1-4 in MD JUCO action, ranking them 11th out of fourteen teams in the conference.

Cougars Hand Cecil Region and Conference LossDecember 05, 2018The Cougars of Frederick Community College handed both Seahawks' basketball squads a loss in the NJCAA Region XX DII and MD JUCO standings on Wednesday. Cecil College will have a short break this weekend before they look to get back into the win column when they travel to Baltimore City Community College for a primetime double-header on December 12.

O'Neal Hits Game Winner for SeahawksDecember 01, 2018Cecil College women's basketball picked up their second victory of the season after freshman guard Megan O'Neal hit the game-winning jumper to lift the Seahawks over the Catamounts of Potomac State College of WVU. The Seahawks improved to 2-3 overall with the NJCAA Region XX DII victory and remained at 1-1 in MD JUCO action.

Seahawks Snap Three-Game Losing StreakNovember 28, 2018Cecil College women's basketball picked up their first victory of the season, after starting off with three straight losses. The Seahawks defeated the Trojans of Allegany College of Maryland 85-39, as a result of a balanced scoring effort offensively, to improve to 1-3 overall and 1-1 in MD JUCO play.

Early Lead Slips Away from SeahawksNovember 17, 2018Cecil College women's basketball experienced their 17-point first half lead slip away in their home opener against the Barons of Rowan College at Burlington County on Saturday. The Seahawks start their season 0-2 against non-region and non-conference opponents.

The deadline for submissions is Friday, Dec. 21, at 4 p.m. The purpose of the Cecil College Athletics Hall of Fame is to honor individuals who, through participation, support or interest, have made outstanding contributions to or brought recognition to the athletic programs at Cecil College.
