Due to COVID-19, on July 13th, the National Junior College Athletic Association (NJCAA) made the decision to move all sports to the spring semester. The only exceptions are colleges with cross country, golf and women’s tennis. Those programs will remain in the fall semester.
he 2019-20 academic year presented unprecedented challenges to NJCAA student-athletes, but through determination and excellence in the classroom, 9,555 student-athletes garnered All-Academic recognition for achieving a GPA above 3.6.
Cecil College Athletic Department today announced that it has entered into a 5-year partnership with Nike through BSN SPORTS. The agreement, which will commence on July 1, 2020 is part of BSN SPORTS Collegiate Select program, which aims to make BSN SPORTS a one-stop provider for all collegiate athletic, intramural, club and staff apparel and equipment to all D1, DII, D3, NJCAA and NAIA schools.

Cecil College Athletics is excited to celebrate its 2nd Annual Hall of Fame class with an induction ceremony to be held on Saturday, March 28 in the Physical Education Complex (Building E) on the North East campus.

The deadline for the submission of new nominees is Friday, January 10, at 4:00 p.m. The purpose of the Cecil College Athletics Hall of Fame is to honor individuals who, through participation, support or interest, have made outstanding contributions to or brought recognition to the athletic programs at Cecil College.
Learn more about Daniel Mitzel in the latest issue of Student-Athlete Spotlight. Mitzel, a native of Massey, Md. and a 2019 graduate of Kent County High School is currently in freshman runner on Cecil College's inaugural cross country team. In four meets this season, Daniel has been the top male runner from Cecil College in all but the first race. He cross the finish line in his debut 5k with a time of 24:55 and followed up with three 8k races at 35:22, 34:35, and a personal-best 32:37 at Hood College on October 19. Mitzel's 34:35 finish at Goucher College earned him the 8th place trophy. Cross country will finish up their inaugural season at the conference and region championships at Hagerstown Community College on October 26.
The Cecil College men's & women's cross country teams competed in their final regular season meet on Saturday, October 19 at the 13th Annual Hood College Open. Four male and three female runners from Cecil College participated in the event that entailed loops through Utica District Park located in Frederick, Maryland.

The Cecil College men's & women's cross country teams competed in their third meet of the season on Saturday, October 5 at Goucher College's annual Cross Country Classic. Three male and three female runners from Cecil College participated in the event winding through Goucher's campus and scenic wooded trails in Baltimore, Maryland.
The Cecil College men's & women's cross country teams competed in their unaugural meet on Friday, September 6th at McDaniel College's Green Terror Challenge in Westminster, Maryland. Five male and three female runners from Cecil College participated in the event.

On, July 2, 2019 the National Junior College Athletic Association (NJCAA) announced a new record of 6,656 student-athletes that earned a spot on one of the three NJCAA All-Academic teams, surpassing last year's total of 6,329 student-athletes.
