NORTH EAST, Md. - Cecil emerged victorious in a thrilling volleyball match against Frederick, securing a 3-0 win on Tuesday. All three matches were decided by five points or less.
The Seahawks jump to 4-2 (3-2 Region 20) with the win.
Set 1:
- Cecil struggled early, falling behind 11-5.
- The home crowd would rally behind the Seahawks, willing them on to eventually tie the opener at 13-13
- Katarina Kuchera's kill finally tipped the first set in favor of Cecil, 25-22.
Set 2:
- Cecil grabbed control midway through the middle set.
- After the Seahawks earned set point at 24-17, Frederick would score three straight to stave off the home squad.
- A service error from the Cougars finally handed Cecil a 2-0 lead.
Set 3:
- The third set proved to be the closest of the match, with Frederick gaining the upper hand early.
- The Cougars forced a Cecil timeout as they led 18-12 midway through the set.
- Out of the break, Cecil stormed back to secure the match with a 26-24 victory

- Rachel Mullins and Camryn Anzalone both ended the night with seven kills
