Seahawks Suffer Second Loss of the Season in complete sets by CSM

The Hawks of College of Southern Maryland defeated the Seahawks in three sets on Friday to hand them their second loss of the season. The Seahawks played tough throughout the match, but fell short in the end. 

College of Southern Maryland claimed each of the three sets 25-21, 25-17, and 25-18 over Cecil College. The Seahawks were able to battle and keep the scores close in each set, but were outhit by Hawks trio consisting of Janiyah Brand, India Chesson, and Samya Alexander. The trio combined for 19 of the 26 kills for the Hawks in the match.

For the Seahawks, freshman hitter Amanda Wagner and sophomore hitter Emily Falko each tallied 6 kills for the Seahawks. Freshman Lydia Davis and Emily Falko led the way for the Seahawks with 10 digs each. Despite the loss, freshman setter Crystal Lenk added 17 assists for the Seahawks while and Natalie Diamond and Amanda Wagner served up two aces each.

Cecil College looks to get into the win column when they take on the Cougars of Frederick Community College on Wednesday, September 8 at 6 p.m.
