Waldridge Signs with NCAA DIII Wesley College to Continue Academic and Athletic Career

Sophomore women's volleyball player Emily Waldridge signed a National Letter of Intent to continue her academic and athletic career at Wesley College, located in Dover, Delaware. Waldridge plans to graduate from Cecil College this May and will continue her studies in Psychology.

Wesley College is a NCAA Division III institution and competes in the Atlantic East Conference. Last season, the Wolverines finished their season with an overall record of 14-17 and competed in the conference play-offs.

"I chose Wesley College because they have a very distinguished psychology program. The school's second largest graduation rate is students that are psychology majors. Coach Beiler and Coach Tynes seemed very nice and personable and the new commits that I have met seemed just as eager to play as me," said Waldridge, when asked why she chose Wesley College.

Waldridge finished her sophomore season at Cecil College first on the squad in kills with 178 and second in service aces with 48, earning All-MD JUCO Second Team recognition. In two years as a Seahawk, she tallied 316 total kills and 78 service aces.

"I am very appreciative for all that Cecil College has done for me. I built relationships with professors due to the small class sizes and I was offered many resources to help me navigate my way through college such as tutors, advisors, the foundation, and many more. Playing volleyball also gave me the experience in order to play at a higher level, competitive school. Coach Barton, Coach Boyd, and Coach Preston gave me the instruction I needed to grow as a volleyball player, for which am very grateful. Being a part of this team also helped me make new friends and I met new people who had the same ambitions as myself, both on the court and off the court," said Waldridge about her time at Cecil College.
