Seahawks' Loss to Delaware Tech Goes Five Sets

Cecil College women's volleyball's six-game win streak came to an end after Saturday's non-conference loss to Delaware Technical Community College in a five sets. After a competitive back and forth match, the Seahawks had a match point opportunity in the fifth set by could not convert, dropping the match by scores of 25-21, 19-25, 21-25, 26-24, and 17-15. Volleyball's record falls to 10-5 overall and remains at 9-2 in Maryland JUCO competition.

The Seahawks were led by 26 kills and two blocks coming from sophomore Brittany Atkins, 59 assists from freshman Sarah Blevins, and 34 digs from freshman libero Emily Ritchie. Blevins also added seven services aces on the day. Sophomore Kirra Barrett added 21 kills on 41 attempts and two solo blocks.

The Seahawks face a six-day break from play before their re-match with Delaware Technical Community College on Saturday, October 21 in a tri-match for their last few home games of the season. Cecil College will play Del Tech at 12:00 p.m. followed by Potomac State College of WVU at 3:00 p.m.
