LARGO, Md. - Akeil John's brace was not enough to power the Cecil men's soccer team past Prince George's, as the Seahawks dropped a 3-2 affair with the Owls Tuesday evening.
A pair of goals inside of the game's opening 11 minutes got Prince George's off to a fast start. John found the back of the net in a minute later to cut Cecil's deficit in half. Despite both teams having chances to score, the game remained 2-1 in favor of the Owls at the break.
Jorge Santacruz's goal in the 74th wound up being the winner for Prince George's. A second strike from John put Cecil back within one, but the Owls defense held firm to secure the victory.
The Seahawks drop to 1-6 (1-6 Region 20) on the year.
Box Score Highlights
- Jacob Brown led with two shots, both falling on target
