No. 2 Knights Best Cecil

NORTH EAST, Md. - The Cecil Seahawks fell on the wrong side of a 14-1 scoreline to the CCBC-Essex Knights on a rainy Tuesday afternoon at Calvert Regional Park.

The Knights, ranked No. 2 in the latest NJCAA Division II men's soccer poll, sprinted out to a 3-0 lead just 10 minutes into the contest. An own goal by Cecil gave way to two more Knights scores for a 6-0 advantage. Another own goal for the Seahawks was followed by three goals for Essex, leaving Cecil trailing 10-0 at the break.

Joaquin Saavedra's goal in the second highlighted a more energetic effort for the Seahawks in the second half. However, the Knights managed to push through four more in the final 45 to walk away the victors.

Cecil drops to 1-2 (1-1 Region 20) for the season.
