Seahawks Drop Season Opener to Catamounts

KEYSER, W.V. - Cecil goalkeepers Charlie Rinker and Aidan Hayes combined to make 15 saves, but the Seahawks fell 5-0 to the Potomac State Catamounts in Thursday's opening contest of the 2022 season. 

Rinker earned the start in Cecil's first game back on the pitch since 2019, picking up 11 stops in the first 45 minutes. Hayes stepped in during the second half and made four saves.

The Catamounts took an early lead on the back of Rashid Nacif, who found the back of the net at the six minute mark. Nacif ended the contest with a hattrick and an assist. As a team Cecil finished the game with 10 shots, five of which came on target. Eduardo Pina led with two shots on goal.

Cecil drops to 0-1 (0-1 Region 20) with the loss.
