Men's Soccer Shut Out By Harford Fighting Owls in Season Opener

Cecil College men's soccer opened their 2019 season at their home venue, Calvert Regional Park, with a shut out loss to conference and region rival Harford Community College on Tuesday. The Fighting Owls were able to control much of the contest's pace of play and possession and out-shot the Seahawks 33-2 and created 15 corner kick opportunities for themsevles, compared to the Seahawks' zero, through ninety minutes of action.

Harford got out to a quick lead, scoring just seven minutes into play, but seven first-half saves by freshman goalkeeper Noah Walker allowed the Seahawks to trail close behind. Plagued by injuries on the warm turf, Harford pulled away 25 minutes into the second half with three goals in the next fourteen minutes.

Sophomore forward Kevin Quintanilla and freshman midfielder Drew Johnson recorded the Seahawks' only two shots, both of which wound up on goal. Walker ended his debut as a Seahawk with 14 total saves.
