The Cecil College men's soccer team continued to struggle on the offensive side of the game in Tuesday's conference match up against the Hawks of Hagerstown Community College. The Seahawks have now gone scoreless since their 5-2 victory over Allegany College of Maryland on September 5, stretching the insufficiency to six games. Also plagued by injury, the Seahawks were only able to play 14 healthy players throughout the 90 minute duration of 90+ temperatures against the Hawks.

After a slow start for both teams, the Hawks notched their first goal 20 minutes into the first half and were able to find the back of the net one more time before half. Seahawks' goal keeper Jose Rivera, in his third career start, recorded six saves in the first 45 minutes.

Exhausted from lack of substitutions, the Seahawks allowed four Hagerstown goals in the second half. Cecil College was able to fire a total of six shots (two on goal) throughout the duration of the game, compared to the Hawk's 35 shots and 21 shots on goal. The Seahawk's shots on goal came from freshman John Savage and sophomore co-captain Jacob Smith. Seahawks' goalkeeper Jose Rivera ended the day with 15 saves.

The Seahawks fall to 1-9 on the year and 1-6 in MD JUCO competition. Men's soccer returns to action on Friday, September 29 in another conference showdown against CCBC Catonsville with hopes of snapping their six-game scoreless streak. Kick off is set for 4:00 p.m. at Calvert Regional Park in North East, Md.
