Cecil Drops #12 Tribunes
ROCHESTER - Cecil College men's basketball took down its first ranked opponent of the year, defeating No. 12 Monroe Community College 69-66 on Saturday afternoon.
Sophomore guard Jaiden Guy dominated the contest, leading the Seahawks with 27 points while adding in seven rebounds and a half-dozen assists. 16 of his points came in the second half.
Cecil improves to 3-0 on the year after the win.
Turning Point
The Seahawks played excellent defense for the final 20 minutes, limiting Monroe to 23.8% from the field and a 1-for-13 mark from deep. A late steal by Jermaine Goodwyn setup Ciyon Coates for a bucket to put Cecil up for good with 1:16 left to play.
