FREDERICK - Cecil men's basketball grabbed an important Region 20 D2 victory on Wednesday evening, defeating the Frederick Cougars 99-92 in an overtime thriller.
Five Seahawks finished in double figures, including a season best 21 points from freshman guard Jaiden Guy. Shaun Chandler collected 16 points to lead the bench unit, while Luke Moore finished with a double-double (14 points, 12 rebounds) off the pine.
The win boosts Cecil's record to 5-15 (1-5 Region 20).
Turning Point
The Seahawks were forced into the extra period after the Cougars nailed a three-pointer with seconds left on the clock. Cecil responded in overtime by nearly doubling (15-8) Frederick's output to earn the win.
Jaiden Guy, Shaun Chandler, and Chris Metevia combined to score 12 of the Seahawks 15 points in overtime.
