NORTH EAST, Md. - Cecil's Dominick Carrington has been named the Region 20 Division II Men's Basketball Player of the Month for February.

Carrington scored at least 10 points in every game in February as Cecil went 5-2 overall and 4-1 against Region 20 DII opponents. He dropped 23 points, six assists and six rebounds in a win over then-No. 10 (DI) Monroe College. Carrington played all 40 minutes and scored 16 points in a win over Southern Maryland, and scored 18 points, seven rebounds and three assists against Frederick to end the month. Overall, Carrington averaged a team-leading 15.4 points per game and 3.2 assists per game in February.

The Seahawks are in the midst of the Region 20 Division II Tournament. They defeated No. 6 Beaver County in the quarterfinals at home on Tuesday, and travel to Frederick on Friday to face No. 2 Chesapeake in a semifinal bout.
