Raritan Valley Tops Cecil, 82-72

NORTH EAST, Md. - Cecil's woeful 1-for-25 mark from three gave way to an 82-72 defeat at the hands of the Raritan Valley Lions in Sunday evening's final game of the Cecil Mixer.

The Seahawks looked sharp again down low, outscoring Raritan Valley 46-28 in the paint. The Lions managed to make up the gap with six three's and a 30-for-34 clip from the free throw line. On the other side of the court, Cecil made 63% of its attempts from the charity stripe.

Vernon Simmons topped all players with 21 points, chipping in 10 rebounds as well. Marlon Lewis led Cecil's reserves with 11 points.

With the loss, the Seahawks dip to 3-4 this season.

Turning Point

The Lions scored the first nine of the second to grab a 40-25 lead with 17:54 in the game. Cecil went 0-for-5 during this stretch.
