Monster Second Half Powers Cecil Past Delaware Tech

NEWARK, Del. - Cecil men's basketball recorded its second straight win on Tuesday evening, defeating Delaware Tech 85-75 on the road.

The Seahawks found themselves trailing by 11 points entering halftime. Cecil rallied for a dominant second half, scorching Delaware Tech's defense for 53 points over the final 20 minutes of the game. 

Four players finished in double figures for the Seahawks. Dominick Carrington led Cecil with 18 points, while Vernon Simmons recorded a double-double consisting of 13 points and 13 rebounds. Marlon Lewis and Jordan Strickland combined for 26 points to lead Cecil's reserves.

The victory boosts the Seahawks record to 2-3 on the year.

Turning Point

Down six with five minutes left in the second half, the Seahawks would go on a 20-4 run the rest of the way rip the game away from Delaware Tech.
