Cecil Defeats Jamestown, 66-60

ROCHESTER, N.Y. - The Cecil men's basketball team picked up its first win of the season on Sunday, defeating the Jamestown Jayhawks in a neutral site clash as part of the Murph Shapiro Classic.

Dominick Carrington led all players with 19 points on the afternoon. His three with one second to go in the first half put Cecil up a point at the break. Carrington combined with Vernon Simmons to score half of Cecil's 38 points over the final 20 minutes, which proved to be enough to put away the Jayhawks.

With the victory, Cecil improves to 1-3 on the season.

Turning Point

Vernon Simmons carried the Seahawks offense late, recording seven of Cecil's final nine points of the contest. An offensive rebound by Simmons with six seconds left forced the Jayhawks to foul him, and the sophomore would knock down one of two to seal the game.
