Cecil Reaches 19-Game Winning Streak and 6th Place National Ranking with Win Over Catamounts

The Cecil College men's basketball extended their winning streak to eighteen games on the season on Saturday defeating NJCAA Region 20 DII rival, Potomac State College of WVU by a final score of 88-73. While continuing their hot streak, the Seahawks have climbed all the way up to the #6 spot in the NJCAA Division DII Men's Basketball poll.

The Catamounts were led by Juliyen Johnson with a team high 20 points while adding 3 rebounds. Malik Lacewell added 18 points and 8 rebounds in the loss.

Sophomore guard Hassan Corbin recorded a huge double–double for the Seahawks with 20 points and 12 rebounds. Sophomore guard Perren Gyan recorded 18 points and seven rebounds after making is first start of his career. Freshman forward Marlon Lewis added 18 points and five rebounds off the bench for the Seahawks.

Cecil College men's basketball team looks to extend their winning streak to nineteen games when they travel to play Harcum College on Wednesday, February 16th. The Seahawks suffered their only loss of the season to the Bears on November 21, but look to make adjustments to earn the victory in the re-match. Tip-off is scheduled for 7 p.m. in Bryn Mawr, Pennsylvania.
