No. 9 Seahawks Hold Off Dragons' Second Half Comeback

The #9 ranked Cecil College men's basketball team extended their winning streak to fourteen games on the season Wednesday defeating Howard Community College 86-72. With this win, the Seahawks hope to maintain their ranking or climb the next NJCAA DII national poll. The Seahawks were in an intense battle with Howard Community College but held off the Dragons' comeback to earn a hard-fought victory.

The Dragons were led by Daeshawn Eaton with 17 points, 10 rebounds, and 6 assists. David Garey added 15 points and 3 assists for Howard Community College.

Sophomore forward Khalid Gates led the way in scoring for the Seahawks with 26 points and added seven rebounds. Freshman guard Dominick Carrington played a huge role as the point guard recording 17 points, while grabbing three rebounds and dishing out four assists. Sophomore guard Darell Johnson added 12 points, seven rebounds, and four assists for the Seahawks in the win.

Cecil College men's basketball team looks to continue their momentous winning streak when they host CCBC Catonsville on Wednesday, February 2. Tip-off is scheduled for 7 p.m. in the Physical Education Complex on the North East campus.
