Win Over Thunder Wolves Lands Seahawks in National Rankings

The Cecil College men's basketball extended their winning streak to four games on the season Saturday defeating Niagara County Community College 79-70. With this crucial win, the Seahawks are now ranked 18th among all NJCAA DII men's basketball teams nationally, and look to climb higher in the rankings as the season goes on.

The Thunder Wolves were led by LaMarqus Merchant Jr. with a team high 17 points while adding 7 rebounds and 4 assists. Allen Fordham added 14 points and 5 rebounds for the Thunder Wolves.

Sophomore guard Darell Johnson played a key role for the Seahawks adding 15 points, 4 rebounds, and 2 assists. Sophomore guard Hassan Corbin was one rebound shy of a double-double but ended up finishing with 11 points and 9 rebounds. Sophomore forward Joshua Thomas contributed with 11 points and 7 rebounds off the bench for the Seahawks.

Cecil College men's basketball team looks to extend their winning streak to five games when they travel to play conference and region rival, Garrett College, on Wednesday, December 15th. Tip-off is scheduled for 6 p.m
