Seahawks Return to Court With Debut Win Over Prince George's

The Cecil College men's basketball earned their first win of the season in their season debut on Saturday defeating Prince George's Community College 95-83. The Seahawks have not played a home game since the spring of 2020 due to cancellations from the COVID-19 pandemic. After a back and forth first half, fhe Seahawks went into halftime with a two point lead, but outplayed the Owls in the second half to earn the win.

The Owls were led by Keynante Williams who had a team high 17 points while adding 3 rebounds and 2 steals. Deonte Cooke and Caleb Wilson each had 13 points and 5 rebounds for the Owls in the game.

Sophomore guard Hassan Corbin led the scoring for the Seahawks with 20 points and adding 6 rebounds. Sophomore guard Darell Johnson played a huge role in the game by adding 14 points, 9 rebounds, and 6 assists. Freshman forward Jacob Valeus recorded a double-double for the Seahawks with 16 points and 10 rebounds while sophomore forward Khalid Gates added 15 points, 8 rebounds, and 2 steals in the game for Cecil College.

Cecil College men's basketball team looks to earn their second of the season when they play Delaware Technical Community College on Saturday, November 20 as part of the Cecil College Mixer that spans over the weekend of November 20-21. Tip-off is scheduled for 1:00 p.m.
