Falko Receives MD JUCO Athlete of the Month Award for Second Time This Season

As voted on by the conference athlete of the month committee, sophomore guard, Jacob Falko, was named Maryland JUCO Athlete of the Month for the month of January. This is his second time receiving this honor after being named Athlete of the Month in November.

In six games played in January, Falko averaged 21.8 points per game, while shooting 69.2% from the field, 38.9% from beyond the arc, and 88.9% from the foul line. He also averaged 7.5 rebounds per game, 4.7 assists per game, and 1.3 steals per game during the month. He currently ranks 2nd in MD JUCO in points per game, 3rd in field-goal percentage, and 5th in three-point percentage.

Falko's best performance of the month came against Allegany College of Maryland on January 15 when he scored 37 points on 15-18 shooting, including 4-5 from three, and 3-3 from the foul line. He also added six rebounds, six assists, and two steals to round out his stellar performance. He helped his team to an undefeated month of January, current 15-game win streak, No. 12 ranking in NJCAA DII, overall record of 19-5, and unbeaten conference record of 9-0.
