Men's Basketball Outlasts Cardinals in OT

Cecil College men's basketball outlasted the Cardinals of CCBC Catonsville on Wednesday night to come away with an overtime victory in their first conference match up. The Seahawks improved to 2-4 overall and start out with one win in MD JUCO action.

After Cecil College trailed by five points at halftime by a score of 49-44, the Seahawks and Cardinals battled back and forth for the remaining thiry minutes of play. With a few lead changes and momentum swings, Cecil College and CCBC Catonsville found themselves tied at 86 with 1:34 left on the clock. Each team would score one free throw before the end of regulation to head into halftime tied at 87.

The Seahawks were able to pull away in extra minutes to finalize the overtime victory with a final score of 105-102. Sophomore duo Greg Alexander and Caleb Johnson lead with Seahawks with a combined 49 points. Alexander tallied his first double-double of the season with 25 points and 11 rebounds. Jordan Griggs added another 20 points to help the Seahawks to a 1-0 record in the conference.

The Seahawks return to action on Tuesday, November 21 to face the Raptors of Montgomery College. Tip off is set for 7:00 p.m. on the campus of Cecil College.
