Cecil Picks Up Two Wins Against Morris

NORTH EAST - The Seahawks competed against the Morris Titans on Sunday afternoon, taking game one via the 10-run rule. After Cecil lost game two by the same fate, they were later awarded the contest a day later due to a Morris forfeit.

Cecil's record improves to 3-5 after this weekend's results.

Game One - Cecil 15, Morris 5 (5) - Box Score

Cecil's offense exploded in the opener, scoring four runs in the second, third, and fourth innings. Morris plated all five of its runs in the second inning, enough to knock out Cecil starter Colin Brosh. This gave way to Hunter Spiel (2-0) and John Smith (1 IP), who combined to allow just two hits and three walks over the final five innings.

Leading 13-4 heading into the sixth, Cecil's Christian Crutch tripled to right field and drove home two runs to end the contest.

Couper Stala led Cecil with four RBI, while Sipel helped his own cause at the dish with a home run and two RBI. Kenny Scottborgh also picked up two hits.

Cecil's 14 hits and 13 RBI are its most this season.

Cecil wins 7-0 via forfeit.
