Seahawks Swept by Potomac State

NORTH EAST, Md. - The Seahawks took on Potomac State for the second time this season, dropping both games of a doubleheader to their Region 20 Division 1 opponent.

After the two losses, Cecil falls to 18-26

Game One - Potomac State 7, Cecil 6 - Box Score

Cecil blew a 5-1 lead in the opener, as the Catamounts drove themselves back to win 7-6.

The bats of the Seahawks made noise early, highlightedby a three-run home run from Garrett Worthington. RBI singles by Lane Weismiller and Gio Malatesta accounted for the other two runs.

Extra-base hits fueled the Potomac State comeback. A double in the fourth, a solo shot in the fifth, and a three-run bomb the sixth eventually put the Catamounts up one.

The Seahawks threatened to tie the game in the seventh after Garrett Worthington put himself on third, but a strikeout and groundout ended the contest.

Five Cecil batters finished with two hits, but the Seahawks also struck out nine times.

Game Two - Potomac State 10, Cecil 9 - Box Score

The Seahawks dropped another one-run contest, falling 10-8 to the Catamounts in game two.

Cecil tore into Potomac State early, scoring seven runs in the first two innings. The visitors responded by scoring 10 runs over the next four frames, while the Seahawks scored just two.

Much like game one, a home run decided the contest in favor of the Catamounts in the sixth. The Seahawks went down in order in the seventh to finish the game.
