Cecil Takes Two From USCAA #5 Bucks County

NORTH EAST, Md. - The Seahawks returned to their winning ways on Friday, downing fifth-ranked Bucks County out of the USCAA for the second time this season.

Cecil and the Centurions competed less than two weeks ago in Trenton, with the Seahawks sweeping the home team to start April.

The Seahawks jump to 15-21 after the sweep.

Game One - Cecil 6, Bucks County 3 - Scoring Summary

Cecil's six-run fourth shredded the Centurions early advantage. Bucks scored two runs in the second and one in the third.

Garrett Worthington's two-run home run sparked the rally. Kevin Gamber's RBI double to center scored a pair to push Cecil ahead by one. A double from Pat O'Brien and a base knock from Dylan Byler upped the Seahawks lead to 6-3.

Ryan Souders (1-0) collected his first win as a Seahawk, tallying four strikeouts over 4 1/3 innings. Gehrig Harsh (SV, 1) dominated the final 2 2/3 innings, allowing just two hits to earn his first save of 2023.

Game Two - Cecil 3, Bucks County 2 - Scoring Summary

The Seahawks took a page out of the Centurions' playbook, scoring the first three runs of the game to take the first lead. The Bucks County struggled to figure out Joel Blanco (2-3), who sent eight Centurions packing via K over 6 1/3 innings.

As Blanco's pitch count trickled over 100, Bucks nabbed a double and walk off the right-hander. The Seahawks called on Sael Flete to finish the job, and the lefty reliever would do just enough to earn his first save of the year.
