Offensive Surge Continues as Seahawks Sweep Saturday

NORTH EAST, Md. - Cecil's offense earned five more extra-base knocks in game two, as the Seahawks earned yet another mercy rule victory over Jamestown on Saturday afternoon.

Davis Jenkins and Josh Martinez homered for the second straight game, while Sael Flete joined the slugfest with his first of the day. This planted Cecil at seven home runs over two games, nearly matching its season total (10) coming into Saturday.

The Seahawks improve to 7-11 on the year.

Game Highlights

Game two played out exactly like game one, as the Jayhawks scored in the top of the first for an early advantage. Cecil responded, this time with six runs, in the bottom of the first to claim the lead for the rest of the game. The Seahawks offense remained steady, alternating one-run and three-run outputs over the next four frames.

Joel Blanco and Vinnie Kershner (1-1) took care of business on the mound, allowing just one run on two hits the rest of the way. A two-run homer in the bottom of the fifth via Martinez walked off the Jayhawks for the second straight game.
