NORTH EAST, Md. - Cecil mashed four home runs in Saturday's opener, as the Seahawks rolled to a 16-5 victory against the Jamestown Jayhawks.
The Seahawks scored at least one run in all five frames, including a five-run fifth that ended the contest via mercy rule. They homered twice in the second, once in the fourth, and walked it off with a grand slam in the fifth.
The Seahawks improve to 6-11 with the win.
Game Highlights
Jamestown took an early 2-0 lead on an RBI single and a Cecil fielding error. The Seahawks answered with three runs in bottom of the first on two RBI singles and a sac fly to go up one. Dylan Nickle (2-2) haulted the Jayhawks bats over the next two innings while Cecil built up a 10-2 advantage.
The Jayhawks continued to utilized singles to drive in runs for the fourth, scoring three runs to pull back with five. A solo blast from Garrett Worthington made it 11-5 Cecil, with Gehrig Harsh keeping the Jamestown offense at-bay in the top of the fifth.
A bases loaded walk followed by Cordero's grand slam put the finished touches on game one.
