Seahawks Offense Propels Two Game Sweep of Orange County Community College

The Cecil College baseball team played a double header Sunday against Orange County Community College. The Seahawks were dominant in both games on Sunday to pick up wins in both games.

In the first game, Cecil let up five runs in the top of the first but came back in the bottom of the inning to score nine. Cecil's bats were hot for the whole game and ended up winning 19-9. The Seahawks recorded three home runs in the game that included one from Dylan Byler, Rafael Solano, and Isaiah Livingston. Shortstop Nathan Ewing had a huge game for the Seahawks going 4-5 with 4 RBI. For the Colts, catcher Paul Grasso went 2-3 with a home run to left field. The Seahawks 19 runs are a team high so far in the season and gave plenty of momentum heading into the second game.

In the second game, Cecil had a quick 3-0 lead after two innings. However, Orange County Community College scored four runs in the top of the fourth to take the lead. The Seahawks scored an additional five runs of their own in the bottom of the fourth to retake the lead and never looked back. Cecil eventually won the game 12-5. Starting pitcher Slothing Che had a quality start for the Seahawks going three innings, allowing four runs, and striking out five for the Seahawks. Relievers Dylan Byler and Brandon Snyder were clutch coming into the game only allowing one run between them. Byler stayed hot going 3-3 at the plate that included another home run. Right fielder Evan James also homered to left field in the win. For the Colts, DH Tom Mazany went 1-4 with a home run. Second baseman Kyle Smith went 2-3 with 2 RBI in the loss.

The Cecil College baseball team's next game is a double header Saturday, March 26 when they travel to play Montgomery College followed by double-header at Frederick College on Sunday, March 27. First pitch for both weekend dates is 12:00 p.m.
