MD JUCO and NJCAA Region XX Release Awards for 2019 Baseball Season

Sophomore outfielders Jaily Paredes and Joseph Munoz were recognized by the Maryland Junior College Athletic Conference and/or the NJCAA Region XX DII baseball committee for their outstanding performance this season.

Paredes was named to the Second Team for both the conference and the region for the 2019 season. This is Paredes' second year in a row named to the NJCAA Region XX DII Second Team. Munoz was recognized as an Honorable Mention addition to All-Region XX DII team.

Paredes batted .307 for the Seahawks and tallied 31 hits, 30 RBI, and 8 home runs (first on the team) in 37 games played this season. In addition to recording 39 put outs and 11 assists from right field, Paredes also pitched 34 innings and struck out 56 batters.

Munoz boasted the highest batting average with a .343 AVG with 37 hits, nine doubles (tied for first on the team) and stole 8 bases in 38 games played during his sophomore season. Munoz recorded 66 put outs and 3 assists while only committing one error for a .958 FPCT from the outfield.

The Maryland Junior College Athletic Conference (Maryland JUCO) today announced its 2019 softball and baseball All Conference award recipients. A total of 79 selections representing 13 member institutions earned All Maryland JUCO honors.

Harford Community College tops the list in baseball with seven selections; however, are followed closely by Frederick and Garrett, each of whom has six.

Chesapeake is next with four, as CCBC Essex, Hagerstown and CCBC Dundalk each have three. Allegany, Southern Maryland and Montgomery College have two each and Cecil College has one.
