Knights' Quick Start Too Much for Seahawks

Cecil College baseball was unable to overcome a quick 6-0 start in the first three innnings by the Knights of CCBC Essex. The loss by the the Seahawks gives the Knights their first conference victory of the season. Cecil College and CCBC Essex currently occupy the twelfth and thirteenth spots in the MD JUCO standings, out of fourteen baseball programs. The Seahawks were held scoreless until the bottom of the fourth inning when sophomore third basemen Andrew Schutt crossed the plate.

Freshman pitcher Jaily Paredes was given the loss for the Seahawks after giving up seven runs on five hits, while walking five batters. Paredes struck out six patters in five innings pitched. In his career, Paredes has pitched 20.1 innings for the Seahawks with an ERA of 5.75 and 37 strike outs.

The Seahawks were led statistically by sophomore Joseph Bagnerise III, who served as the Seahawks' designated hitter in the match up against the Knights. Bagnerise went 3-4 on the day and had three stolen bases. Other hits came from outfielder Jordan Yoder, Tyler Robinson, and Tanner Cebula with RBI's from Jordan Yoder and Shawn Dulin.
