Baseball Swept by Frederick

Frederick, MD - The baseball team lost a key Region XX double header over the weekend at Frederick Community College. The Cougars defeated the Seahawks by scores of 3-1 and 9-3. in game 1 Heibert Romero had a 1-0 lead until the Cougars rallied for 3 in the bottom of the 6th for the final score of 3-1. Romero gave up 5 hits and struck out 9. The Seahawks collected 9 hits but could not put together enough hits when hit mattered the most. Game 2 was much the same, the Seahawks led 3-0 after 3 only to see the Cougars score 2 in the 4th, 1 in the 5th and then blew it open with 6 in the 6th. Sam Deardorf was the losing pitcher for the Seahawks, he gave up 5 hits and struck out 6. The Seahawks out hit the Cougars on the day but came away empty handed on the afternoon. With the sweep the Seahawks drop to 12-17 overall and 7-3 in Region XX play. The Seahawks have 6 more Region games left including home games this Tuesday and Thursday against CCBC Catonsville and CCBC Essex, both games start at 3pm.
