Wear Orange for Hunger Awareness on Jan. 30

Join Cecil College Athletics by wearing orange during the day and in the stands on Wednesday, January 30 to represent and raise awareness for hunger issues on our campus and in our community.

The athletic department is asking as many people as possible, including faculty, staff, students, and community members, to wear the orange shirts that were purchased during the "Athletics Goes Orange for Hunger Awareness" campaign, or anything orange if a shirt was not purchased, on January 30. Participants are asked to sport their campaign shirt or orange-colored clothing at the home men's and women's basketball games in the evening. Tip-offs are scheduled for 5:00 p.m. and 7:00 p.m. in the PE Complex (Building E) on the North East campus against Prince George's Community College.

Since the color orange represents hunger awareness, the athletic department will also be collecting non-perishable food items and monetary donations for the Student Food Pantry at our home contests on January 30. Individuals will recieve free admission to the basketball games with the donation of a non-perishable food item(s) (atleast one per person for admission) or by making a monetary donation to the Student Food Pantry at one of our ticket selling tables.

The purpose of the Student Food Pantry is to provide students who need a snack or meal with easily accessible food. Donations of single serving foods that can be heated in a microwave in their cups or eaten right out of the package are ideal (granola bars, trail mix, pasta bowl/cup, soup cups, fruit cups, EZ macaroni & cheese, etc.).

Thank you for your support of Cecil College Athletics and the Student Food Pantry.
