Student-Athlete Spotlight: Ashley Kelly

Learn more about Ashley Kelly in the latest Student-Athlete Spotlight. Kelly, a native of Elkton, Maryland and a 2018 graduate of Bohemia Manor High School, just completed her freshman season as a forward on the women's soccer team. In her first season as a Seahawk, Kelly tallied two goals on nine shots on goal for four points on the year. She will also compete on the women's basketball team for Cecil College.

Ashley is a social work major and is one of the few two-sport student-athletes on campus.

What is your favorite course you are enrolled in this semester & why?

My favorite class this semester is my Introduction to Social Work Course because it is in my major and my instructor, Wayne Beckles, makes the class great.

What is your favorite movie about sports & why?

"She's the Man" is my favorite movie about sports because it's funny but also has an inspirational story.

If you were stranded on an island, which one of your teammates would you want with you & why?

Clara Cooper because both of us would be all about survival.

Who is your favorite professional athlete & why?

My favorite professional athlete is Michael Oher. He has overcome triumphs that most couldn't and is an inspiration to athletes everywhere.

What is your favorite meal to eat for breakfast?

A breakfast burrito.

What is one thing on your bucket list?

I want to travel to the Dominican Republic.

If you could have one super power, what would it be & why?

I would want the ability to move things with my mind.

What is your dream occupation & why?

My dream career is to become a social worker because I want to help children in bad situations to realize there is hope and there is help out there.
