Student-Athlete Spotlight: Mike Worthington

Learn more about Michael Worthington in the latest Student-Athlete Spotlight. Worthington, a native of Quarryville, Pa. and 2017 graduate of Solanco High School, is entering his sophomore season as an infielder on the Cecil College baseball team. In his first season as a Seahawk, Worthington collected 33 hits on 111 at bats, landing him fifth on the team in batting average as a freshman. Worthington also tallied 21 stolen bases this past spring.

Michael is a business administration major at Cecil College and looks forward shattering is carreer stolen bases record in the spring.

What is your favorite course you are enrolled in this semester & why?

Photography - it was a new experience for me and was really interesting to learn about different ways to take pictures.

What is your favorite movie about sports & why?

My favorite is "Remember the Titans" because it shows that playing sports can make your teammates as close as family.

If you were stranded on an island, which one of your teammates would you want with you & why?

I would choose Dave Villafane because he would be great company and he is creative and smart enough to figure out a way to get off the island.

Who is your favorite professional athlete & why?

Tom Brady, not only because he became the greatest quarterback ever from starting as a 6th round draft pick, but because no matter what he accomplishes he still feels like he has something to prove.

What is your favorite meal to eat for breakfast?

Eggs, cheese, sausage and ketchup with Maplehoffe chocolate milk.

What is one thing on your bucket list?

Swimming with dolphins.

If you could have one super power, what would it be & why?

I would want to be able to stop time. Then I could stop the ball and be able to hit it wherever I wanted.

What is your dream occupation & why?

I want to become and athletic director because I enjoy being involved with a variety of sports and I would have the opportunity to do that is an AD career.
