Student-Athlete Spotlight: Jonathon Falko

Learn more about Jonathon Falko, a freshman guard, on the men's basketball team at Cecil College, in the latest Student-Athlete Spotlight. Falko, a native of Rising Sun, Md. and graduate of Tri-State Christian Academy in 2016, helped his team to become runners-up in the conference and Region XX DII tournaments. In his 29 games played and six starts, he became the Seahawks' clutch free throw shooter and scored 258 points in his first year at Cecil College, while also being named to the 2018 NJCAA Region XX DII tournament team.

What are you studying at Cecil College?

I am majoring in Accounting at Cecil College.

What is your favorite spot on campus?

The gym, of course. Its where we get to play and practice everyday and all the guys hang out there in between classes.

What is your favorite inspirational quote and who said it?

Who is your favorite professional athlete & why?

My favorite professional athlete is Sidney Crosby. I like him because his work ethic and desire to win are second to none.

What is your favorite meal to eat?

Pizza.

What is your favorite sports-related memory?

I will never forget winning the league championship in high school with Tri-State Christian.

What is one thing on your bucket list?

Probably sky diving.

What is one word that describes you & why?

Determined. A lot of people tell me that I won't accomplish my goals because they are too far out of reach, but so far, I've proved many people wrong and it motivates me to accomplish more. 

Where do you see yourself in 5 years?

Playing professional basketball overseas.
